See Idalia flooding around Tampa Bay on Wednesday

As Tampa Bay awoke Wednesday, coastal areas were experiencing flooding that continued through through afternoon. High tide later in the day could make the situation worse. Here are images we’ve seen so far.

PSO deputies continue to patrol during Hurricane Idalia and are seeing flooded roadways including water encroaching on homes, downed trees and power lines. Staying home and off the roads is strongly encouraged with Pasco’s weather conditions today. (1/3) pic.twitter.com/sH4aaks8qT

Still assessing the damages caused by Hurricane Idalia, remember storm surge is expected to peak this afternoon. If you see flooded roadways- turn around, don’t drown.📍Bayshore Blvd at 2:45 a.m. pic.twitter.com/Gw6XpiE9Qy
